A letter from Clare Gorman

Former Tuckahoe Trustee Clare Gorman shares why she is such a strong supporter of Omayra, Darryl and Josh -

“Iron Man” stomped into the movies … an Illinois Democrat named Obama was striving for the presidential nomination … and I was proudly serving on Tuckahoe’s board.

That was all 15 years ago – and that’s also the last time we stepped back to take a big-picture look at what lies ahead for our Village. The Comprehensive Plan is like a Rosetta stone for our zoning and planning boards, but there hasn’t been a thorough update since 2008.

Planning for the future while preserving our past takes leadership that brings communities together - and fortunately, we have it. From handling the nitty-gritty of street paving to the new energy of events like the Main Street Park movies, Mayor Omayra Andino has shown that she more than merits another term.

Money worries, of course, dim hopes and prospects. But it’s a worry we don’t have: During Omayra’s term, Tuckahoe’s finances have risen to a stellar, all time high AA+ rating.

This part of our future is more immediate: Omayra and the Trustees team of Darryl Taylor and first-time candidate Josh Gaccione need your support. So join, network, and donate if you can to their campaign: Promises Made. Promises Kept … and we’re just getting started. And be there for them with your vote on (or before!) November 7 – to be sure the Village remains in good hands.
