About Us

Omayra Andino

“My life’s work is in service to my fellow citizens. In my community, I have built libraries for underserved youth, mentored displaced homemakers entering the workforce, and created a food pantry that provided much needed meals for more than 300 people each week. In my career, I serve and advocate for people with intellectual disabilities and have done so for more than 28 years. My passion is to improve the quality of life for those around me. As Trustee in Tuckahoe, I plan on continuing my commitment to my community. I believe ordinary people can do extraordinary things if we work together. In my role as Trustee, I’ll work to facilitate greater communication and transparency, promote responsible development and employ an inclusive approach to all decision making. My leadership ability, tenacity and levelheaded approach will provide the residents of Tuckahoe with a representative they deserve.”

“The tagline for my practice is “The Village You Need.” I believe in The Village. A strong, supportive community like the one we have here in Tuckahoe is a rare gem. I am committed to keeping the integrity of our Village intact, and bringing the community together in new and exciting ways. The strength of a community lies in its residents, its business owners, and in its representatives. If those three forces can work together, the community will thrive. As a Trustee, I will make it easier for residents to get relevant and important information from the Village. I will facilitate a dialogue with the community, because I believe representative government should always have an open door to its citizens. I will work to protect the Village from overdevelopment and the repercussions that come from giving developers too much leeway, and I will pay very close attention to the budget-ensuring every tax dollar is spent wisely and with purpose, that no resident is gouged with unnecessary fines and fees, and look for new ways to generate income for the village.”
